Identify a Plant (Scan)

  1. Go to πŸ“· Identify.
  2. Choose one:
    • Take Photo: Tap the camera button and grant camera access.
    • Choose from Gallery: Pick an existing image.
  3. Wait while PlantFocus analyzes the image. You'll see progress messages and a preview.
  4. Review the results: common and scientific names, health, and care recommendations.

If the image isn't a plant, you'll be prompted to retry. You can also replace the image anytime using the "Change Image" button.

Save to My Garden

From the analysis results screen:

  • Tap the sprout icon to save the plant. You'll see a confirmation popup.
  • Go to 🌱 My Garden to view it. Open the plant to see details (species, light, water, soil, temperature) and its Care Schedules section.

Tip: If you identify the same plant again later, saving can update its details and care profile.

Create a Care Schedule

You can automate a full schedule using PlantFocus or create tasks manually.

Automatic: PlantFocus Smart Care

PlantFocus Smart Care creates a personalized schedule from the plant's latest analysis (watering, fertilizing, and recovery checks when needed).

Steps:

  1. Open 🌱 My Garden, then select your plant.
  2. In the PlantFocus Smart Care section, tap "Auto PlantFocus Schedule." If you already have tasks, you may see "Reschedule with PlantFocus."
  3. Confirm creation. If there's no recent analysis, the app will ask you to identify the plant first.
  4. Success! New tasks appear under Care Schedules. The schedule updates as you complete tasks.

Notes:

  • Requires an internet connection and a recent analysis for best results.
  • If you reschedule, the existing schedule may be replaced by a new one.

Manual: Schedule Editor

Create your own tasks and frequencies.

Steps:

  1. Open 🌱 My Garden and select a plant.
  2. In Care Schedules, tap Add.
  3. Choose a task type (e.g., Water, Fertilize, Prune, Mist, Repot, Monitor, Reassess).
  4. Set the frequency in days. A suggested value appears based on the plant's profile; change it if needed.
  5. Add notes (optional), and keep "Active" on to receive reminders.
  6. Save. Your new task appears in the list.

Edit or Delete a schedule: Open the plant, tap Edit next to a task to change it, or Delete to remove it. You can also toggle a task on/off without deleting it.

How Schedules Work

  • Frequency and Next Due: Each task has a due date. When you mark a task done, the next due date is recalculated from today.
  • Overdue: If you miss a day, tasks show as overdue until you complete them.
  • Recovery Mode: Some plants enter "Recovery" based on analysis. Recovery tasks (e.g., Reassess) prioritize getting the plant back to Normal. Mark "Recovered" when prompted to exit Recovery; recovery-phase tasks are cleaned up automatically.
  • Notifications: Enable care reminders in βš™οΈ Settings to get one daily notification (around 10:00) when tasks are due.

Care Today

Find everything that needs attention today in πŸ”” Care Today.

  • Due Today: Tasks that should be done today or are overdue.
  • Upcoming: Tasks due soon. These are read-only previews.
  • Mark Done: For due items, tap Mark done (recovery tasks may prompt you to confirm results).

Completing tasks here updates schedules and reduces future overdue items.

Pro Photo Tips

  • Fill the frame with the plant. Avoid cluttered backgrounds.
  • Use natural, even light. Avoid harsh shadows or blown-out highlights.
  • Focus on healthy leaves plus any issues (spots, yellowing) that need diagnosis.
  • Keep your camera steady. A sharp photo improves identification confidence.
  • If the result is uncertain, try another angle or leaf.
